Scheme: PMAY- Pradhan Mantri Awaas
Yojana (Urban)
Key Facts regarding the scheme :
This Mission has four components viz.,
1. In-situ Slum Redevelopment with non
public sector participation using land as resource,
2. Affordable Housing through
Credit Linked Subsidy,
3. Affordable Housing in
Partnership with non public and public sector and
4. Beneficiary led house construction/enhancement.
5. The houses given under this
scheme will be owned by females or jointly with males
Main Objective : The main objective
of this Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana scheme is to provide affordable housing to
urban poor.
Under PMAY, it is proposed to build
2 crore houses for urban poor including Economically Weaker Sections and Low
Income Groups in urban areas by the year 2022 through a financial assistance of
₹2 trillion (US$31 billion) from central government

development and management of the fisheries sector to increase both fish

the inland and marine fisheries sector including deep sea fishing.

nutritional security through optimum utilization of water resources for
fisheries development in a sustainable manner, keeping in view the bio-security
and environmental concerns.

Scheme: National Food Security Act
(NFSA), 2013
Key Facts regarding the scheme : 1.
The prices of food grains specified under NFSA – Rs.3 per kg for rice, Rs.2 per
kg for wheat and Re.1 per kg for coarse grains.
2. The Central Government is thus
providing highly subsidized food grains to about 80 crore beneficiaries in the
country.

of this scheme to
1. NFSA was enacted in 2013 and was
being implemented in only 11 States/UTs in May, 2014.
2. During 2016, special attention
was given for its implementation in remaining States/UTs.
3. To meet the expenditure incurred
on intra-State movement of foodgrains and fair price shop dealers’ margins.

Scheme: PM Vaya Vandana Yojana
Key Facts regarding the scheme :
Government has launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY)’ to
provide social security during old age and to protect elderly persons aged 60
and above against a future fall in their interest income due to uncertain
market conditions. The scheme enables old age income security for senior
citizens through provision of assured pension/return linked to the subscription
amount based on government guarantee to Life Insurance Corporation of India
(LIC).
The scheme provides an assured
return of 8% per annum for 10 years. The differential return, i.e. the
difference between return generated by LIC and the assured return of 8% per
annum would be borne by Government of India as subsidy on an annual basis.

Scheme: Soil Health Card Scheme
Key Facts regarding the scheme:
1. All soil samples are to be tested in
various soil testing labs across the country.
2. Thereafter the experts will analyze
the strength and weaknesses (micro-nutrients deficiency) of the soil and
suggest measures to deal with it.
3. The result and suggestion will
be displayed in the cards. The government plans to issue the cards to 14 crore farmers

will carry crop-wise recommendations of nutrients and fertilisers required for
the individual farms to help farmers to improve productivity through judicious
use of inputs

Scheme: National Programme for
Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD)
Key Facts regarding the scheme:
National Programme for Youth and Adolescent Development (NPYAD) is an ―Umbrella
Scheme‖ of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under which financial
assistance is provided to government/non-government organizations for taking up
activities for youth and adolescent development. The Scheme is operational since
2008. The assistance under NPYAD is provided under five major components:
(1) youth leadership and
personality development training;
(2) promotion of national
integration programs, youth festivals, multi-cultural activities, etc.;
(3) promotion of adventure; Tensing
Norgay National Adventure Awards;
(4) development and empowerment of adolescent’s
life skills education, counselling, career guidance, etc.; and
(5) technical and resource
development research and studies on youth issues, documentation, seminars/
workshops.

this scheme is to develop leadership qualities, national character, comradeship
and personality development among the rural youth. It’s an Umbrella Scheme of the
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports

Scheme: Export Promotion of Capital
Goods (EPCG) Scheme
Key Facts regarding the scheme :
1.Under this scheme import of capital goods at zero customs duty is allowed for technology upgradation and better services to enhance India’s export competitiveness.
2.Import under EPCG is
subject to export obligation equivalent to six times of duty saved in six
years. 3.Scheme also
allows indigenous sourcing of capital goods with 25 per cent less export
obligation.
